Electrical work in Sheepscar
Including Little London and Lovell Park, LS7.
Sheepscar lies just north-east of Leeds city centre, a district of busy road junctions, warehouses, car showrooms and the Penraevon Industrial Estate. In 1893 its tannery was the largest in the country, and a former public library building here later housed the West Yorkshire Archive Service. Most homes nearby are in Little London and Lovell Park to the west. Little London became largely council housing in the 1950s and 1960s, a mix of high and low-rise flats and houses, and since 2010 parts of the Carlton estate have been replaced with new low and medium-rise homes while the Oatland tower blocks have been refurbished and reclad. Lovell Park is 1960s high-rise and maisonette housing on the site of an old cattle market.
Flats and maisonettes from the 1960s can still carry original wiring or an early fuse board, so an EICR is the clearest way to find out where one stands. If you let one privately, a landlord electrical safety certificate is a legal requirement. The newer homes on the old Carlton estate were built to recent wiring standards, so work there is more likely to be smaller jobs such as switches and sockets, extra circuits and repairs.
If your flat is in a block with controlled entry, tell us the block name, floor and how we get in when you book.

Questions from Sheepscar
What people in Sheepscar ask us most. Not covered here? Ring and ask.
Do you cover Little London and Lovell Park as well as Sheepscar?
Yes. Lovell Park straddles LS2 and LS7, and we cover both, along with Little London, the newer houses on the former Carlton estate and the streets off Chapeltown Road near Sheepscar. Unsure about your block? Let us know which one.
Can you work inside a flat in a Little London tower block?
Yes, for owners and private landlords. If you rent from Leeds City Council, report faults to the council as your landlord. Leaseholders in a managed block may need the freeholder's consent before alterations, so check your lease before booking a rewire or new circuit.
